Hays is partnering with a growing consumer-focused business to appoint a Senior Accountant to establish and manage the finance function for its Dubai operations.

This is a standalone role, ideal for a hands-on finance professional who can operate with ownership, contribute strategically, and support a business expanding across international markets.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end finance operations while providing strategic financial inputs to support business growth. The role requires strong expertise in accounting standards, financial analysis, and commercial finance, within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting operations in compliance with IFRS and US GAAP principles
• Provide financial insights across profitability, cash flow, cost control, and inventory management
• Prepare and analyse key reports including ageing, cash flow, spreads, and inventory performance
• Oversee banking relationships, including facilities, LCs, and working capital management
• Support import/export financial processes, including international trade and distribution
• Work closely with global teams (US and Hong Kong) on financial alignment and reporting
• Contribute to basic M&A analysis and support strategic initiatives
• Build and streamline finance processes for a new Dubai office setup
• Collaborate with operations, 3PL, and e-commerce teams to ensure financial efficiency
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure audit readiness

Requirements

• 7-10 years of finance experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Experience in consumer, distribution, e-commerce, or trading environments.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Confident, proactive, and able to work independently in a standalone role.
