Permanent full-time position in Melb outer Western Suburbs for Group Accountant to join a national business. Your new company:
A leading organisation within the wholesale import and distribution sector is seeking a commercially minded Group / Corporate Accountant to support a multi-entity operation experiencing continued growth.Reporting to a CFO based in NSW and working closely with multiple operational stakeholders, this role will take ownership of core financial reporting, compliance and analysis across the Victorian segment of the business. You will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity while providing insight to support informed commercial decision-making.This position suits an experienced accountant who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment and partnering with the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:

• Managing month-end and year-end close processes across multiple business units
• Preparation and review of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and P&L reporting
• Oversight of indirect tax compliance, including GST review and BAS preparation
• Calculation and review of variable remuneration and incentive payments
• Supporting internal and external audit processes, including PBC documentation
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting
• Preparing financial information for third-party and supplier reporting requirements
• Providing broader accounting support and process improvement across the finance function

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
• Strong technical accounting capability with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced commercial environment
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
• Experience in wholesale, distribution, retail or multi-site environments (highly regarded)
