FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT - CANBERRA

Robert Half is working with a growing organisation operating across multiple entities, currently undergoing a period of expansion and operational change.

This role offers the chance to join a developing finance function and contribute to both day-to-day reporting and broader process improvement initiatives.

The Role

This is a hands-on Financial Accountant position supporting core financial reporting, compliance, and reconciliation activities within a multi-entity environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders while contributing to process improvement and system efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial reports
• Prepare journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts
• Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations
• Assist with indirect tax reporting and compliance requirements
• Contribute to audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
• Maintain financial data integrity and support reporting accuracy
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and controls
• Provide general support across finance operations as required

About You

Essential

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards)
• Experience in financial accounting or audit
• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
• Understanding of core accounting principles and compliance
• Exposure to multi-entity or group structures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable

• Experience within a fast-paced or evolving environment
• Exposure to ERP or cloud-based accounting systems
• Involvement in process improvement initiatives
