Senior Financial Accountant - Financial Services - Sydney CBD - $130-150K Package

An opportunity to step into a Senior Financial Accountant role within a major global organisation in the financial services sector. This role offers the perfect blend of technical accounting, group reporting, statutory compliance, and transformation project exposure - ideal for someone ready to leverage their audit background as a Manager in a broader, more influential capacity.

Your new role
-Leading key components of the month-end close, GL reconciliations & analytical review
-Coordinating statutory reporting, half-year and full-year accounts
-Delivering Group Reporting packs
-Ensuring strong SOX controls and data integrity
-Supporting system initiatives, UAT, and finance process improvements
-Preparing technical accounting papers and advising on complex standards
-Assess the impact of changes in accounting standards and implement necessary policy and process updates.
-AASB 18 implementation as part of an upcoming project

What you'll need to succeed
-CA / CPA qualified
-7+ years of accounting/audit experience ((Big 4 Audit Manager 1st mover or Big 4 background essential)
-Strong understanding of AASB & IFRS, particularly AASB 9, 7, 101
-Strong controls mindset (SOX or equivalent)
-SAP and/or SQL experience a bonus
-Someone who enjoys technical accounting
MUST HAVE PERMANENT RESIDENCY OR AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP & CURRENTLY IN AUSTRALIA.
